Free comes at a price

I got to spend part of yesterday morning with Heather, and it was a lot of fun! We decided to redeem our "free strand of fresh water pearls" that are supposedly a $99.00 value. (Heather said she'd give them the benefit of the doubt and say they were worth $10.) We received coupons for them in our BYU e-mails, so we thought we'd go check if it was real. When we walked into Goldsmith Jewelers, we were greeted by a 40+ year old man who seemed a little too interested in facts about our lives, and asked never-ending questions about where we lived, if we were dating anyone "exciting," what year we were in school, etc. After we answered every question to his satisfaction, (except for Heather changing her phone number and e-mail address by one number and letter--which was hilarious and I almost burst into laughter), we finally got our free pearls and headed out. Although I'm glad we got our gift, next time I think I'll make sure I like the free gift being given. Pearls would be better if I liked them and didn't already have some of my own!
P.S. Last night when I tried to sell the necklace to my roommates, I noticed Cory was already wearing some! (And just to be clear, none of them bought it, so there is a pearl necklace still up for sale for less than half of what it's worth!)

Hahaha, trying to sell. :) It was a good morning. Good memories made, thanks to Rian.

That's actually where Robyn and I got our wedding bands. The salesman was really cool when we were there. They're pretty much an engagement/wedding ring store so maybe that's why they were so concerned with your dating status. Or maybe the 40 year old guy wanted you. It could go either way.
