Today at church, Bishop Call announced before the closing hymn in Sacrament that Kaleo Hewlett, a member of the ward who was as good as guys come, was killed in a car accident yesterday in Georgia. Although I didn't know Kaleo very well, I'd seen him at church, Institute, and other ward activities each week, and I always had a lot of respect for him, and knew he had a strong testimony of the church. When the Bishop informed the ward of this tragedy, I could barely sing the closing hymn because of my shock
and lament. I had just seen him at Institute on Tuesday, and at church last Sunday when he gave a talk. At Institute he often gave insightful comments and I knew by everything he said that he wanted to someday marry the girl of his dreams and have a family of his own. I just can't believe he's gone, and I know that all of us will miss him so much.P.S. If anyone has any memories or anything they would like to share, feel free.

Him wanting to get married was a understatement... lol I remember one time I asked him to do a lesson for FHE and he used the story of Nephi building the ship and likened that to how you should go about building a eternal relationship. At the time I was thinking, what the crap is going on, but later it was really funny to think about... He is a good man, and I will miss him, but I find comfort knowing that because he's a good man he was called back to fulfill a calling... and now he can get married :b
I picture him talking to his Grandpa Wynn (who's he's named after) and his great-grandparents (Grammy & Pa Hewlett) and saying when do we get work. That's where his work is now.
PS That's awesome pic of him and his dad Trey.

I didn't really know Kaleo, we were in the same ward and would say hi and talk to each other in the halls. But he always had a smile on his face. He loved life and the gospel! You could tell that by just looking at him! I know he's still happy and in a better place. I will always remember how he touched my life, even if it was very brief. :)
Kaleo was an AMAZING person. He was always so happy and full of life. I just cant stop seeing his wonderful smile. He was friends with everyone he came in contact with...exp girls ;) He was always talking about how he wanted to get married but recently decided to just focus on the gospel and now he is in a place where he can find his eternal companion and family. I'm so excited for him. Please pray for his family at this time. It will be much appreciated. If you want to know updates on his funeral times they will be posted on his facebook wall.
Thank you for your friendship and love and concern for him.
Love-
Jessica Hewlett-Kaleo's cousin.
I was just doing a search on google for Kaleo and came across this post. I was in the car with Kaleo. I was sitting right in front of him. He was sitting in the back passenger's side, I was sitting in the front passengers. I don't remember anything about the day, all I remember is meeting Kaleo the night before, and the entire time we spent together he made me smile. I will cherish the few hours I had with him forever, and I miss him terribly.
I remember when I started hanging out with Kaleo, he invited me over to his house one day to watch a movie... Little did I know that when he said that he meant, " come watch me work out" ;) he sat in the garage lifting weights for at least 25 minutes before he even mentioned a movie. lol. He was always doing his best to impress us ladies.
I also remember that family home evening lesson mentioned above, I coudlnt' be there, but I remember getting 4 texts that evening of people wondering what he was asked to speak about that night. lol. it was great.
Kaleo was a wonderful person. Any time you where around him you had to smile. I dated him for several months and he was so sweet and kind. Even though it didn't work out for us we stayed friends. He will be missed and is loved. Please keep his family in your payers. We all love and miss him.
I am relieved to know that he had a personal relationship with God. I was one of the EMS crewmembers that responded to the accident. My prayers certainly go out to his family and all of his friends. God Bless.

I knew Kaleo from high school and to be honest I didn't know him very well, but I do remember his face, I remember seeing him in the halls and he would smile and say "hi", I only knew his name because we had so many classes together, he was so much fun to be around, my prayers are with his family.
